Composting for a New Generation Michelle Balz is a long-time backyard composter with a passion for reducing our impact on the planet. Her book, Composting for a New Generation, gives readers a comprehensive look at the many types of home composting and provides tips on how to compost successfully.

Grow a Beautiful, Edible Landscape in Challenging Conditions Amy Stross is a permaculture gardener, educator, and author of the award-winning book, The Suburban Micro-Farm, an Amazon Top 10 Urban Gardening Book. Amy’s current adventure is transforming a 3-acre suburban property into a micro-farm with her husband and mischievous farm cat. She writes about small-scale permaculture gardening on her popular website, TenthAcreFarm.com.

Seed Harvesting Workshop Ben Cohen is an author, poet, herbalist, gardener, seed saver and wanderer. Ben is also the founder of Michigan Seed Library, a community seed sharing initiative that has worked closely with a number of communities to help establish seed library programs across his home state and beyond.

Companion Gardening Doc Blak is a former organic farmer, teaches indoor and out hydroponics; and, he is NGIC certified along with indoor green certification and removal of invasive species.

Vertical Gardening Lily Turner is founder of Urban Blooms, a nonprofit social enterprise creating beautiful, sustainable, and environmentally conscious communities with custom living wall installations.
